Google Tag Manager allows you to configure consent settings for your tags23. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click Tags in the left navigation2.
  2. Click the Consent Overview icon2.
  3. In a list of tags, use the checkboxes to the left of each entry to select which items you would like to update2.
  4. When one or more tags are selected, the Edit Consent Settings icon will appear2.
  5. Modify settings for Additional Consent Checks2.
  6. Click Save2.

Step 6: Review the Built-In Consent Checks

Tags with built-in consent checks automatically adapt their function based on the user’s consent selection3. Make sure that Google Tag Manager loads tags in all cases and not only if the user consents3.
